Dear Readers,

I must apologize for not writing for months now, I have been traveling a lot lately and busy with small projects. I have been in search of myself, my purpose, learning about God more, digging deeper into His love and most importantly sharing the good news to others who have not heard about Gods love.

In the next few posts, I will share my leanings and experiences while I traveled, Gods grace and most importantly  what we can do to make our every lives meaningful.

I also have been busy writing a book. More updates to follow, but do keep me in prayers to find the time and discipline to complete the book by this year and for distribution by next year.

Today I sit to contemplate our purpose here as I watch the waves crash the shore and the sun play with the clouds.

Earlier today I heard a news that my friend of ten years now is diagnosed with of acute myeloid leukemia, a form rarely seen in young adults. (If you would like to contribute for her treatment (https://www.gofundme.com/monifights).

I am thankful that Yes! She is still alive, Yes! she remains positive in her battle but it also made me realize how temporary our life is here on earth. While, we may have duties and responsibilities to fulfill we must realize that we have a bigger mission which we fail to do which is spreading the word of God. Sharing His love and Grace to the world. We are so caught up by running over things which are not important, we fail to realize the importance of blessings because we are too focused on things we don’t have or desperately want.

Yes, I am guilty that this reality didn’t hit me until someone close to me, who I spent quality time with, is in this situation, and I pray and hope that it wont take your loved one for you to realize that there are far more important things to do than to get a car, house, new cellphone or even a good job position.

TIME is running out my friends, with every second that ticks, with every breath we take we must make it count. Because there is an eternity waiting for us, question is what did we do with our time here? Did we invest in temporary pleasures or did we invest in eternity?

Happy Sunday Friends.

Slay your giants

Hello readers, it has been a while..

So much has been happening, I might have to write 2-3 blogs on my experiences and ride of faith this 2.5 months has been. I celebrated my birthday last May and was definitely blessed with a random trip abroad, I may choose to see my life has and always has been a blessing. Tho I cannot escape the fact that it hasn’t been all that a good ride for the past 2.5 months.

May 1 til date, I have been struggling – struggling emotionally and spiritually. Because of all that I was experiencing from day to day circumstances and challenges, I was beginning to stray away from my faith little by little, I was beginning to doubt and ask why? Why Lord, why?

Strangely, in different ways His presence was always felt in any situation, despite being in my lowest, the sadness, the tears, the anger and the frustration, I could hear Him speak, I could feel His presence which is may be why I have been holding on to His promises until today.

In times like such: where you begin to believe the lies of the enemy, where you begin to feel defeated, where you begin to feel like your lost and unable to believe His perfect plan for you, I realized a couple of things:

1. It is very important to keep a constant connection with him.. – make the effort and fight for it. I was not able to do my quiet time but I asked in my prayer once – where are you? why are you not able to do anything? And the response got my thinking – got me at one point back to him – to believe and to trust even if I don’t see.

so.. what was the response? I am a God who moves mountains. Indeed, Matthew 17:20 – And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

A couple of days ago, as I read in the news, “Everest moving: World’s highest mountain ‘moves by an inch’ due to Nepal earthquake” you may call it a coincidence, nature or something else, I believe it was indeed God who did so..

2. Make sure to have / communicate with your small group or friends. Make sure that you are covered in prayers – because believe it or not, prayers do work. Speak life and bible verses and most importantly as bad as the situation may seem – have an inch of hope and a pinch of positivity. Have faith as small as a mustard seed – I know this is not easy – but like I said earlier you have to fight the good fight of faith. Trust me, it was not easy for me either, but it is a constant battle we have to fight everyday.

3. Last but the most important – is to slay your giant.

What do I mean? Do not focus on the problems or the situation – do not focus on the failed plans and wrong timing of things rather focus on God, focus on Christ and what he did on the cross.

It started to make sense when one day, I prayed and went back to Him and seek him – forget everything else. Believe it or not, suddenly the problems and situation who seemed like giants in the beginning, who were blocking my vision to see God, where now shrunk to the point of nothing compared to Jesus and the cross. Suddenly I felt at peace, I knew I was in safe hands, I knew no matter what, God was with me and protecting me.

I am not saying the problems and situation disappeared, but it became much smaller then I thought it was. You see, when focusing on a problem, we tend to magnify the problem and make it a giant whereas it is or could be as small as an ant. (ok may be a little bigger than that..)

A few months ago, I was given a paper weight which was a stone that had a small note that said “Slay your Giant” which was now brought in the real sense and meaning.

Hope this blog can inspire and spark hope to those who are going through hard times and I pray May God speak life unto you as you go through a difficult phase. I agree it is not easy as all but its definitely worth knowing you are in the hands of the mighty Savior who was fearfully and wonderfully made in his image and likeness for a greater purpose.

PS. would definitely appreciate some prayers from your end, and do write in the comments or send me a private message for prayer request, I will join you in believing God for favor.

Have a blessed week.

God bless 🙂

God’s Love is Unconditional

We have heard this line several times in several ways but have we tried to understand or picture what this means?

Try to picture a child with a kite..

image-kite-376x246

Kite flying has to be set in certain conditions like it has to be In an open field, no wires coming in the way and most importantly it has to be a windy day.

With the external conditions set, the child now has to hold the string and throw the kite up in the air and pull the string until the wind catches the kite. And continuously make sure that the person flying the kite maintains the tension of the wind and the string so the kite will keep flying.

kite-2

If the wind lets go a little bit, the person flying the kite now has to pull the string until there is tension, until the wind catches the kite again.

How many of you know this can get quite tiring…

And some of you may agree, that our ability to love similar to flying kites – as long as the right conditions are in place, we can love. As long as all the conditions we set or need are met, we can love.

Give your self a minute and think about it… “If you do this, i will forgive you.” or “If you give me what I want I will love you” what you are really saying is meet my conditions first for me to be able to love you or forgive you. What you are not saying is.. I cannot love you until these conditions are met.. Here we can realize that our love is very limited, our love is conditional and imperfect.

And knowing this we cannot discount the fact that we can not have have every condition met.. What happens in situations where there is no wind? If you were kite flying you’d have to run and pull the kite. Pull.. pull.. pull.. and run! run!! run!!! And how many of you know that this is not a fun kind of kite flying.. It gets very tiring and exhausting. But that is how some of our relationship with God are.. some of our relationships are tiring because it is based on waiting for conditions to be met in the mean time you are using your will power to keep it going..

As we read God’s word, truly we should be thankful that we serve a God who loves us unconditionally. Jesus had something interesting to say about God. God our father makes the sun rise and set on both the evil and the good, he sends rain which is equivalent to blessings on both the just and the unjust.

Always remember that God loves you, me and everyone. Not just the believer but to the unbeliever with no conditions. Just simple and perfect kind of love.

The solution for our limited ability and supply to love is Gods unlimited capacity unconditional capacity to love us.

Do ponder on this thought and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Walk by Faith and Not by Sight

Hello everyone!

Sincere apologies for not writing for almost 3 months. It has been a different season altogether and a new season of fresh learning’s, revelations and decisions.

The past 2 – 3 months have not only been a blessing but also been a wonderful season and time with God. Allow me to share: I have a new work, new industry and with new responsibilities I am finding myself juggling my last leg of classes and studies. Despite by living a very packed schedule, I make it sure that I am spending ample time with God, having conversations, singing and praising Him every chance I get and sharing His word with my office mates and friends. And when I am down, tired or just living my day to day activities – He constantly pursues me, makes his presence felt and reminds me of my worth in Him. Overall, A season to blossom and deepen my love and Faith for God.

However, I cant help but notice that recently too I am faced with uncertainty, its not like I have never faced it before, but my situation now in particular has become quite extra challenging. I tried to make a practical time line for myself, make efforts to envision plans on what I want to do 6 months to 1 year from now – baby steps in shaping my future, but ultimately nothing materializes. I keep finding myself back to square one. Its still very foggy, very unclear on what happens a month from now, a week from now or even a day from now. As I pray for clarity and vision, I get one answer from God which is wait. Wait on me and I will take care of everything. Honestly its so hard especially if you are the type of person who wants to get things organized, lined up clear and fixed. Yet, despite my situation which my plans are jumbled, nothings clear yet everything goes by smoothly.

Walk by Faith and Not by Sight – may sound or even seem simple but it is definitely not easy, it requires a lot of trust and faith. Oftentimes its the best thing to do at this point because you not only surrender your thoughts but also completely rely on Him being the ultimate source paving the path to perfection – His perfect plan. It also gives you a worry free life and sleep which is completely priceless 🙂

Have you heard the song:  Everlasting by Chris Tomlin? The lyrics of the song goes something like.. ” Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord..”

God simply wants to take control of our plans and our life, after all He is the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end, the author and the perfector of our life who else would know what is best for us – but the person who created us.

WHERE CAN I FIND PEACE?

If I were to ask you, draw me a picture on what is peace for you? I’m sure most of you will have a picture in your head of a beach, calm waves crashing the shore, birds flying and kids building a sand castle in the side, for others it can be in your living room in from of a fire place nice soothing music playing while you sip your hot chocolate, or maybe for others doing yoga, massage, or as simple as having no war or death because of unresolved issues.

From this season of Christmas, we all experience back to back parties and get together’s. Not just this season, but in life in general, from a stressful day at work or school, heavy traffic, unfigured life plans, marital issues, unresolved and conflicting situations, we all strive to find peace, peace in mind, heart and within ourselves. Which leaves us begging with the question of “Where can I find peace?”

This weekend, I had a pleasure of listening to pastor Christian preach about peace. The true definition and what the Bible had to say about peace. While listening to the Pastor preach, I was reminded of my recent past of who I was before Christ in my life. Of how I spent money like a leaking faucet just to fill the part of my life where peace lacked. I went to countless beach trips, out of town trips, spent time with friends and did things which the world defines peace. Which was nothing wrong, apparently, for some strange reason that particular bucket remained empty despite those countless efforts.

We all know our heart, by default, has a vault where only God has the key, A space where only God can fill. And this space – yes! is where the peace of God lies. Believe me after all this years of trying to fill this space, I failed. Mainly because I failed to understand that unique design of how God created us to be.

This empty space was now getting filled every time I heard Gods word, seeked him and followed His will for me. The moment God came in to picture of my blurry life now started to make sense, the purpose became more clear and my life became more beautiful everyday. This started to reflect in my character, my beauty and my relationships with everyone.

A story is told of a painting contest. The artists were asked to render their perspective on subject of peace. There was one who painted calm waters of a brook. Another painted a man under a tree resting. But one submitted his artwork that didn’t seem to make sense at first. It was a picture of raging waters coming from the top of a mountain. The weather gloomy and it looked like the wind was strong.

But when you zoom into one part of the painting, you will see a bird with her young lings in a cleft of a rock, nestling. In the midst of the raging waters, gloomy weather and strong winds, they peacefully rest.

The Bible says that Jesus is our Prince of Peace and He is with us every moment.

So what does it mean to have the Peace of God? There are three points to consider:

1. Peace with God.

We have peace with God through Jesus. We were at war with Him. The Bible says that, “For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son.” (Romans 5:10)

Jesus came so that our relationship with God could be restored.

2. Peace of God.

The result of peace with God is the peace of God. Life is now lived before an audience of One. The Apostle Paul says that he lives to please only One – only his Savior Jesus.

We are told in Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

3. Peace with others.

Because we have peace with God which brings about the peace of God, it is now possible to be at peace with others. If we have been forgiven of our gravest of offense, we are now empowered by His grace to forgive others.

Romans 12:18 tells us to “do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.”

My Prayer for all of you reading this, just like God had turned my life for the best, I pray same for you. May you have the peace of God to know Him better, to restore relationships and most importantly to set you free.

Remember that Peace is not the absence of storms but the assurance of God’s presence in the midst of it.

Have a good week everyone 🙂
